Structural Engineering Manager – Auckland

MDRS are currently working with a market leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy in their search for a new Structural Engineering Manager to be based in Auckland. This a brand new position that has been created for a very exciting and busy looking 2021. The Structural Engineering Manager will work closely with the Auckland Regional Manager and will lead an experienced structural engineering team that is already in place in Auckland.

About the role

The Structural Manager will be responsible for leading a team of 12 structural engineers and technicians whilst developing new and existing business opportunities for the growing department.

Key Criteria

CPEng registered Structural Engineer.

Proven leadership experience, motivational and management skills.

Experience in the development and management of new business opportunities.

Experience of working across a range of residential and commercial buildings projects as a structural engineer.

NZ based experience, local market knowledge.

Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen.

Civil Engineer – Intermediate

Are you an experienced Civil Engineer who is who is interested in working on Urban Development, Shared Spaces and Land Development projects? Looking for exposure to Project Management and Project Delivery duties? Interviews are being scheduled now with January starts available.

This Civil Engineer role would offer the opportunity to work for a well known and highly regarded consultancy which has offices based in both Auckland and Christchurch and a workforce of over 80 staff across the civil engineering, structural engineering and surveying sectors.

The business is currently undergoing a period of growth and is able to offer excellent ongoing career development and progression opportunities to ambitious engineers.  The civil engineering division is currently involved a wide range of education, commercial and residential projects.

This role would suit someone who has some Civil 3D software experience and is looking for a 360 degree engineer role with the chance to get out of the office and be involved in the project management and delivery of projects – You will have to opportunity to work alongside the company’s principal civil engineers in liaising with a wide range of existing clients across ongoing and upcoming projects.

You will ideally already be working in the NZ engineering sector with 3 years of civil engineering experience since gaining your degree. You will also be a very strong communicator both written and verbally.

Structural Technician – Christchurch

This multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy has offices based in Christchurch, Auckland, Hailton and Tauranga with a combined team of over 120 staff members covering Structural, Civil, Environmental and Geotechnical engineering services.

Sales Engineer – Structural/Architectural – Auckland/Tauranga

Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices throughout NZ. They currently have an opportunity for a Sales Engineer to join either of their Auckland or Tauranga based teams.  The business has over 120+ staff members and provides expertise across structural, civil and geotechnical engineering as well as project management and software engineering capabilities. They are well respected within the engineering and construction sector and have big plans for further growth throughout 2021.

This Sales Engineer role would mean being a key part of the Structural and Software Engineering teams in the marketing and the training of external partners/clients. The role would suit someone who is quick to pick up new software and has a tertiary qualification and experience in either structural engineering or architectural design. You will be marketing and training clients on inhouse developed structural engineering software. Full training on this software will be provided.

Duties

  • Business development, develop market sectors and clients.
  • Help grow software brand awareness and presence in the market.
  • Build and promote customer relationships.
  • Present sales reports and forecasts to our management team.
  • Successfully manage clients from sale through to software training and ongoing customer support.

 

About you

  • Qualified Structural Engineer/Designer or Architectural Technician.
  • Conversant with all the current relevant NZ Building Codes.
