Senior Structural Drafter

This employee-owned multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy is currently recruiting a Senior Structural Drafter for their Structural Engineering team based in Christchurch. This role also offers the option of being based in Auckland.

This role would suit an experienced Structural Drafter keen to advance their career in a senior level role which may lead to a Team Leader position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for playing significant role within the Christchurch team of structural design and draughting staff and act as the senior drafter on a number of significant projects.

The consultancy is resourced in structural, civil, geotechnical, environmental and fire engineering services and has offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Whakatane. The individual engineering teams integrate with each other across projects in a supportive team working environment. Current projects include residential, commercial, and industrial builds for a range of architects, developers, planners, surveyors and building owners in both the private and public sectors.

You will be responsible for the preparation of structural engineering drawings using Revit across a wide range of building projects. As the senior drafter you will be providing mentoring and training to draughting staff. Maintaining the company systems including CAD library document and drawing file control and the preparation of documentation packages.

Ideally you will already be based in New Zealand and hold the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years professional experience in Structural Engineering drafting or detailing. New Zealand based experience is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong technical ability in the use of AutoCAD and Revit structures software package.
