This employee-owned multi-disciplined Engineering Design Consultancy is recruiting a new leader for their small Geotechnical Engineering team based in the Bay of Plenty.
The Geotechnical team is a tight knit team of three experienced engineers. This Team Leader role would suit a Senior Engineer keen to step up into a lead level role. Reporting directly to the Auckland based Geotechnical Engineering Director, the successful candidate will have the freedom to grow and develop the team, and to develop relationships with new clients.
The position will be based in the consultancy’s Whakatane office which was established in 2017 in response to the ongoing growth and development in the Bay of Plenty region. The Whakatane office has been consistently busy since its inception and continues to expand with interesting and diverse residential, commercial, and industrial projects secured.
The Geotechnical Team is currently involved in a number of projects including:
- A wide range of residential housing projects.
- Partnering with local councils on stormwater, green treatment, reservoirs, water treatment plants.
- Contaminated Land investigations.
- Landslide remediation/mitigation.
- Ground improvement.
- On-site wastewater disposal investigations and reporting.
Established in the mid-1980s, this respected company provides multi-disciplinary expertise that allows clients to use just one engineering company for their entire project. This consultancy has strong existing partnerships with a wide range of clients, providing services for architects, developers, planners, surveyors and building owners. The consultancy is resourced in structural, civil, geotechnical, environmental and fire engineering service and has offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Whakatane. The individual engineering teams integrate with each other across projects in a supportive team working environment.

Ideally you will already be based in New Zealand and hold the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
- A Washington Accord accredited tertiary qualification in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering.
- CPEng registered or currently working towards this.
